Odfjell Takes Delivery of Bow Platinum

Norwegian shipping and tank terminal company Odfjell has welcomed a 25,000 dwt stainless steel chemical tanker, Bow Platinum, into its fleet.
The newbuilding was delivered on January 5 by China’s AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding.
The ship forms part of a resale deal inked with Chemical Transportation Group (CTG) in 2017 on the acquisition of five stainless steel newbuildings feturing 24 stainless steel tanks.
The ships are a part of a newbuilding order for ten 25,000 dwt vessels placed with AVIC Dingheng.
Bow Platinum is the eighth vessel from the series.
With these additions, Odfjell and CTG plan to form a pool with fifteen 25,000 dwt chemical tankers. CTG will continue to own the quintet, which will be placed in the pool commercially managed by Odfjell Tankers AS.
The company said that it will pay a price of USD 40 million per vessel upon delivery from yard.
The final vessel from the batch is scheduled for delivery in May 2018.
